I love this effect from Nick Trost. Nick originally called it the The Odd-Colored Back and it appeared in The New Tops (Vol. 10, No. 8/9, August/September, 1970). It also appears as Eight-Card Brainwave in his wonderful book: Card Magic of Nick Trost. It is one of those tricks that just amazes you when you play with it. Even when you practice it, it just looks so convincing!
There is a great presentation for this effect on Jamie D. Grants Magic Friday Blog.
Effect: You show 8 or 10 cards I found 10 a good number and ask the spectator to name any card (no force). You place their card on the table and proceed to show the backs and fronts of each card. This uses Marlos wonderful sleight: the Olram Subtlety (The New Tops, Vol. 5, No. 11, November 1965). This is so easy to do it is a shame to call it a sleight but I guess it is! Anyway, it looks like a miracle as when you have finished showing all the remaining cards you find that their chosen card is the only card that has a different color back.
