Invisible Card In Glass by El Ducos Magic

This is basically Jack Hughes The Invisible Card c. 1945 featured in his World of Magic Vol. 2 and also sold under license by Abbotts, released by El Duco without credit.

This is a new twist to the old classic Invisible Deck. In this effect you never see a deck at all only the card that the spectator has chosen! You already know all the gags and funny comments you can do when the spectator handles The Invisible Deck. It really entertains the audience! This is just one example:

Effect: Invite a lady to assist you. Give her an empty card case and tell her to take out the deck and shuffle it well. She will tell you that the case is empty. No its not the deck is just invisible, you explain. So she shuffles the invisible deck. Unfortunately one card drops on the floor, and as you pick it up you tell her it is the Ten of Hearts. Ask her to take out the three other tens from the invisible deck.

You now place the four invisible tens in a glass standing on a tray. Then you cover the glass with a totally empty piece of cloth so that nobody can see the cards (sounds crazy -1 know!). For the first time you ask the lady to choose one of the tens. Lets assume she names the Ten of Diamonds

Now your assistant and yourself are going to take out one invisible card each from the glass until only the Ten of Diamonds is left in the glass. First she is holding the tray, and you remove the invisible Ten of Clubs from under the cloth. Now you hold the tray and she takes out the next card the Ten of Hearts. Then you take out the invisible Ten of Spades, while she is holding the tray, and finally you hold the tray for her while she is reaching into the glass and takes out the last card, the Ten of Diamonds the card of her choice.

TO EVERYONES SURPRISE THE CARD IS VISIBLE SHE IS HOLDING THE REAL TEN OF DIAMONDS IN HER HAND!!!

The effect is very easy to perform. No force of the four cards*. No palming. You can of course change to different cards every time, the Invisible Card in Glass has lots of laughter and entertainment from the beginning to the end. Great audience participation. It is perfect for both stage and parlor magic.

(* this is a misleading statement from the original ad it is true that any of the four cards can be chosen, but those four are forced using a clever verbal ruse.)
